A Profound Look Back at the Week: November 8-14

Primary school children went back to school this week, I had a chance to channel my inner Philip Marlow, and authorities removed the blinking green signal of traffic lights. Quite a busy week. Continue reading A Profound Look Back at the Week: November 8-14

A Profound Look at the Future

That the past twenty or so months have been hard on everyone except billionaires, who got richer, is hardly news. I guess many of us didn’t know exactly how hard these months will be and perhaps only the best among us, pessimism experts, foresaw how long the hard part will last. What was news to me, was just how deep you could descend into the pit of pessimism. Continue reading A Profound Look at the Future

A Profound Look Back at the Week: March 8-14

We survived another week and that’s good news, I suppose, although I have to say I’m not too sure this particular week. Continue reading A Profound Look Back at the Week: March 8-14

2020: The Year in Snapshots

It’s recap time and it is one of the many things about the end of the year that I love. So here it goes, in snapshots. Continue reading 2020: The Year in Snapshots

A Profound Look Back at the Week: December 14-20

The closer we come to the end of the year, the fewer things are happening. As it should be. We all need a bit of a break from time to time. Continue reading A Profound Look Back at the Week: December 14-20

Customer Complaint Re Zombie Apocalypse

To whom it may concern

Dear [Insert-name-here],

I have been patient beyond measure but the time has come to vent my disappointment in how things are run on this planet with regard to humankind. A Profound Look Back at the Week: November 30 – December 6

We’ve now been at the country house for a full week without a single water supply outage and just a petty internet outage that couldn’t even come close to a real problem. Because it happened at a time when we had something else to think about. Continue reading A Profound Look Back at the Week: November 30 – December 6

A Profound Look Back at the Week: November 9-15

I’m having another profound look in pictures because it’s been a hell of a week and I’m still recuperating from it. Nothing major, just superbusy, stressful and generally unpleasant. The new normal. So here are some autumn pictures. If you’re sick of autumn pictures because of overindulgence, sorry! Continue reading A Profound Look Back at the Week: November 9-15

A Profound Look Back at the Weeks: October 5-18

Talk about a late blog post. I apologise for breaking my self-imposed schedule of profound looks back at weeks but the week between October 5 and 11 was excessively eventful, which left me drained by Sunday when I usually write this post. So you get two weeks in the space of one, whether you like it or not. Continue reading A Profound Look Back at the Weeks: October 5-18

A Profound Look Back at the Week: April 20-24

‘Twas the week when some oil prices turned negative in the latest unprecedented global event, which has made me decide to name the word “unprecedented” Word of the Year. Can’t wait to see what else unprecedented is coming our way. Continue reading A Profound Look Back at the Week: April 20-24
